This page is the privacy policy for TrialGuard. It is not a marketing homepage. It explains what data the extension handles, how that data is used, who it is shared with, and how you can contact us.

1. Single purpose

TrialGuard has one purpose: help you remember to cancel free trials and subscriptions before they convert to a paid charge, using dates you confirm.

2. Data we process

The extension may process the following user data:

• Website content on known pricing and signup pages: the page URL, title, and visible text, used only to suggest a trial name, length, and cancel-by date. Nothing is saved until you click Track it, Track page, or Track this trial.
• Tracked trials: name, URLs, dates, optional amount, and your cancel intent. These stay in chrome.storage.local on your computer.
• License key (optional, Pro only): if you paste a Polar license key, that key is sent to Polar to check that it is active.

TrialGuard does not connect to your bank, does not read Gmail, and does not cancel subscriptions for you.

3. How we use the data

Data is used only to:

• suggest a trial when you are on a known pricing or signup page;
• store and show your local trial list;
• fire local reminders (3 days before, 1 day before, and on the due date);
• open the cancel page you saved, when you ask;
• export CSV or a calendar file on your device when you ask (Pro);
• validate a Pro license key you paste.

We do not use this data for advertising, credit scoring, lending, or any purpose unrelated to the single purpose above.

4. Sharing and third parties

Page contents and tracked trials are not uploaded to a TrialGuard server. They are not sold. They are not shared with advertisers.

The only third party that may receive data from the extension is:

• Polar (api.polar.sh): if you buy Pro and paste a license key, that key is sent to Polar to confirm it is valid. Website contents are not included in that request. Polar is the merchant of record for paid checkout on Polar’s own website.

If you export CSV or a calendar file, that file is created on your device at your request. We do not receive a copy.

5. Storage and retention

Trials, dismissals, and any license key are stored locally in chrome.storage.local. They remain until you delete them, clear extension data, or uninstall. Uninstalling TrialGuard removes that local data.

6. Consent

The extension does not save a trial until you confirm Track it, Track page, or Track this trial. You can dismiss a site prompt, delete a trial, or uninstall at any time.

7. Google APIs

TrialGuard does not use Google APIs or the Gmail API. Host access is only for known signup and pricing sites so the Track it prompt can run.

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

8. Children

TrialGuard is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
